Few days ago, I met Fr John Wotherspoon o.m.i., a prison chaplain in Hong Kong when I was also visiting Tanzanian inmates in the Hong Kong prisons. Like myself the Fr.,was also shocked and showed concern on a sudden increase of Tanzanians in Hong Kong prisons (exceeding 100--about 40 per cent being women).All Tanzanian prisoners have been convicted of drug trafficking- an offence punishable by death in all countries in this part of the world except in Hong Kong where it is life imprisonment. Fr Worthspoon is considering to donate funds to a radio station in Tz which may volunteer participate to make programmes to educate Tanzanians about seriousness of this offence. I recommended Radio Maria Tz. He may have communicated. Sincerely.
